IRELAND | The emerald island...

.. goes the well-known saying which I was fortunate enough to exerperience in person.

I spent a year in Galway, a bohemian seaside city in the westernmost part of Ireland, which is not only green but also always very windy.

Green, windy, but most importantly beautiful in a very wild, exotic Celtic way.

Galway is part of the "Gaeltacht", one of the last remaining areas of the country where native Irish or "Gaeilge" speakers live. The area if full of natural wonders and also people with fierce and cheerful spirits, proud of their Celtic history and culture.

It is not quite easy to understand what they say, but it is definitely worth the effort to try!
