CROATIA | My best holiday

This is a difficult topic, since I’ve been to many beautiful places with my family, but if I have to choose one, I’ll go for the little town called Bol on the island of Brach, Croatia.

I love the Croatian coast, especially since I spent my childhood there. But regardless of that, I believe that the Croatian coastline is really special in many respects – it has varied and beautiful beaches, crystal-clear blue water and lots of natural shade.

Bol in particular has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, called Zlatni Rat (the Golden Cape). It actually figured among the top-ten beaches according to Lonely Planet.

It is a stretch of very fine gravel protruding deep into the sea, with a pine wood in the middle. One can always find a quiet and a windy side on this beach, depending on what they like – surfing and playing on waves, or just sunbathing and splashing in the water… Actually, this beach is a surfers’ paradise owing to strong winds in the channel between Brac and Hvar.

The town of Bol itself is approximately 2 kilometers away from this beach and it is very picturesque with its white stone walls (made of special white stone from the quarries on the island of Brac itself) and what I love about it is that it is not as touristy as some other places in the Mediterranean.

If you think that 2 kilometers between the town and this gorgeous beach is a lot, then think twice, because the marble-paved, pine-tree-shaded walkway that connects them along the seafront is the most beautiful place for a walk – it is truly amazing with some nice cafes along it where you can rest and enjoy the view.

All in all, I hope that I have intrigued you and spurred your curiosity towards this lovely pearl on the Croatian coast and I haven’t even mentioned the amazing Mediterranean food and wine…
