Did you know that AI is already used in various industries? Below is a list of many AI adaptation prepared by Domonkos, the Speaking Club teacher. Some of them are really surprising!
Space exploration: to scale back the danger of human life in the vast realms of the undiscovered universe à unmanned space exploration missions just like the Mars Rover are possible; analysis of data from space missions, real-time science decisions of spacecraft, space debris avoidance, and more autonomous operations
E-commerce/Marketing: personalised shopping. AI technology is used to create recommendation engines through which you can engage better with your customers in accordance with their browsing history, preference, and interests. It helps to improve your relationship with customers and their loyalty to your brand.
Education: AI can automate correction and grading so that the tutor can have more time to teach. AI chatbot can communicate with students as a teaching assistant. AI in the future can work as a personal virtual tutor for students, which will be accessible easily at any time and any place and personalise teaching material through constantly monitoring student’s progress. Create content, automated administrative tasks for teachers.
Lifestyle: autonomous vehicles, facial recognition to log in to your computer,
Navigation: Waze, assesses traffic situations and finds best route
Robotics: automated manufacturing processes, carrying goods in hospitals, factories, and warehouses; cleaning offices and large equipment; inventory management
Healthcare: diagnostics (better and faster?), detect diseases, analyse medical data, help develop new drugs,
Surveillance: face recognition for surveillance and security purposes. Systems can monitor CCTV footage in real-time and can act immediately. According to a report at least 75 out of the 176 countries are using AI tools for surveillance purposes.
Agriculture: to identify defects and nutrient deficiencies in the soil, can analyse where weeds are growing. AI bots can help to harvest crops at a higher volume and faster pace than human laborers. Crop monitoring, predictive analysis.
Entertainment: Netflix/Amazon – with ML/AI algorithms, these services show recommendations for programmes or shows based on previously viewed content.
Social Media: On Instagram, AI considers your likes and the accounts you follow to determine what posts you are shown on your explore tab.
Travel and Transports: logistics; travel arrangements: recommend hotels, routes, etc.
Finance and Banking: analyse market patterns, make investment decisions
Military: enhance command and control, communications, sensors, integration and interoperability. Research is targeting intelligence collection and analysis, logistics, cyber operations, information operations, and semiautonomous and autonomous vehicles.
